“Charity begins at home.”
We’ve all heard it, right? The phrase often tossed out there when someone finds it difficult to get behind a particular cause. Not because they are a bad person, but because they find it hard to justify offering help to a distant source whilst seemingly turning a blind eye to the suffering that occurs on their own doorstep.
This year, FanficAholics Fundraisers have decided to do something a little different, with just that very phrase, and all its implications, in mind. Picture this – a fandom charity event bigger and more diverse than any that have come before it. Are you on board yet?
Following the success of 2011’s Junkin’ For Joplin auction, which raised a significant amount for the victims of the tornado that struck the community of Joplin, Missouri, FFA Fundraisers are back with a few new faces, fresh ideas, and some epic fundraisers.
This year, the multiple fundraisers that take place will see donations sent to three major international charities – meaning that your money is certain to benefit your community, as well as the wider world. Not only this, but the gals at the drawing board will be offering contributing persons the opportunity to personally select the charitable cause that will be helped by their submission.
All we ask is that you take the time to get behind these amazing causes, and even more amazing people who hold the desire to help very close to their hearts. There are some fictastic times ahead, and we know you’ll want to be a part of them!
Come one, come all fandoms, and help us spread the word about FFA Fundraisers 2013.
